Gracemount Church are committed to working with teenagers in the local community, most of whom attend Gracemount High School, just a 2 minute walk from our land. We run special youth-focused events throughout the year, geared towards helping young people integrate into our church family. We are also active partners of Young Life International. Through building meaningful relationships Young Life seek to explore faith with young people at their own pace and to introduce them to the person of Jesus. Two of our members, Erin Howieson and Charlie Banks, currently serve as Young Life leaders in the local community.
Every summer we team up with other local churches and Young Life International to run the day camp called Stage ’n’ Slam. This is a fun and active week that incorporates sports, arts, crafts plus dinner, music, dancing, sketches, games, personal stories and Bible talks. Around 150 teenagers come along every year, many of whom live in our own community.
The Safety of your Child
There is nothing more important to us than the safety of your child. Before working with young people our volunteer leaders are required to undergo a PVG Scheme check from Disclosure Scotland. All our children’s work is done in accordance with the safeguarding policy of the Church of Scotland.
